Meet Laura Barr

Laura Barr‘s work is distinguished by rich color, simplified form and light made material. Barr works in series, in oil on canvas, oil pastel and gouache. Her influences include David Hockney, Wayne Thiebaud, Fairfield Porter and Alex Katz, as well as Barnet Rubenstein with whom she studied at Tufts University’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In addition to her BFA, she also holds a degree in Art History from Tufts University and studied at the Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy. Her work has been exhibited at  Prince Street Gallery, New York, NY, as well as at other galleries in the northeast, and is in many private collections.
