Elyse Barton is a Westport, Connecticut-based abstract artist whose work explores the interplay of color, line, movement and negative space. Working across painting, drawing and collage, she builds intuitive, layered compositions that balance bold gestures with quieter, more delicate marks. Her background as a creative director brings a strong instinct for composition and storytelling, while her studio practice gives her room to loosen the rules, experiment and follow the unexpected. The result is work that feels energetic, personal and playfully imperfect. Elyse believes art should bring personality, conversation and joy to the spaces we live in.
